Collaborative Solutions for Sustainable Agriculture in Japan and Norway

A seminar organized by the JSPS Alumni club in Norway was held on November 13 at Ås in Norway. This time, Rota Wagai and Yusaku Ugai were invited from National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) in Japan to give a lecture. The seminar was hosted by Thiago Inagaki (NIBIO) and conducted in a hybrid style, with about 70 participants attending both on-site and online.

This seminar explores the challenges and potential solutions for promoting healthy crop and soil systems in a rapidly changing climate.

Two researchers are invited from the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) from Tsukuba – Japan: Dr Rota Wagai and Dr Yusaku Uga. They will present their work related to C-sequestration and Roots Genetics.

During this day, there will also be presentations from NIBIO and NMBU researchers on several topics related to greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sequestration in Norwegian and Japanese ecosystems.
