IVA-JSPS Seminar with Prof. Tsunenobu Kimoto –Research Excellence, Industrial Strategy and International Collaboration – Top Scientist Lecture on Semiconductors–
On February 24, a seminar titled “Research Excellence, Industrial Strategy and International Collaboration – Top Scientist Lecture on Semiconductors” was held by IVA (The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences), the Japanese Embassy, SJF (Sweden Japan Foundation) and JSPS. With support from SSF – The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research.
The seminar began with opening remarks by Prof. Sylvia Schwaag Serger, the president of IVA. Prof. Tsunenobu Kimoto (Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Electronic Science and Engineering, Kyoto University) delivered a lecture titled “Unlocking Power Efficiency: The Rise and Impacts of SiC Semiconductor Technology”.
This was followed by a presentation from Prof. Lars-Erik Wernersson (Lund University). Then, Mr. Gamada from JETRO introduced their activities.
After the talks, there was a panel discussion on the theme titled “Semiconductors as a Strategic Technology” with eight panelists was held.
