On February 4, JARA (Japan Alumni and Researcher Assembly) was held at Aarhus University. As an introduction, scholarship information was presented and the opening remarks were given by Embassy of Japan in Denmark, Tokai University European Center and JSPS Stockholm Office.
The theme of this seminar “Changing sceneries: Human interaction with landscapes in Japan and Denmark” was introduced by Dr. Anemone Platz (Japan studies, Aarhus University).
Dr. Masahito Fuwa, invited from Japan (Tohoku Institute of Technology) gave a lecture about Japan’s Cultural and Ecological Landscapes. Following that, Dr. Stefan Darlan Boris (Aarhus School of Architecture) gave a lecture about forest landscapes in the Danish countryside.
After the seminar, participants gathered for a reception and enjoyed mingling.

Japan Alumni and Researcher Assembly (JARA) aims to promote networking within the Japan-related research community in Denmark, and to provide a forum for researchers, professionals and students, to meet and discuss new ideas. JARA also promotes Japan-related research and student scholarships.
