The 1st Networking Event in Sweden

Date: April 16th, 2015
Place: Restaurant in Stockholm
Outline: A gathering for Japanese researchers in Sweden was held with about thirty researchers from various academic research institutions participating. Attendees were able to exchange casual information and promote friendships among their peers. The gathering was also an opportunity to thank a researcher who was soon to return to Japan as well as to introduce JSPS’ new staff.
 

The 2nd Networking Event in Sweden

Date: April 19th, 2016
Place: Restaurant in Stockholm
Outline: Twenty-two researchers participated in the gathering. First, each participant briefly introduced themselves and their field of research. Then, Director Hideo Akutsu announced his leave the end of April, thanking everyone for their kind collaboration. He also introduced his successor, the new Director Tadaharu Tsumoto, who was visiting Sweden on a business trip to prepare for his employment as Director. The office’s new International Program Associates Yusuke Nakakane and Eriko Kitajima were also introduced.
 

The 3rd Networking Event in Sweden

Date: March 24th, 2017
Place: Restaurant in Stockholm
Outline: Around thirty researchers and graduate students participated. Deputy Director Yuriko Kawakubo and International Program Associates Yusuke Nakakane and Eriko Kitajima announced the end of their terms in office and expressed their gratitude for everyone’s cooperation and support during their years in Sweden. As new Deputy Director Takao Yoshihara had just arrived in Sweden in time for this gathering, he was introduced to the attendees. All participants were engaged in detailed discussions and exchanging information until the end of the gathering.


The 4th Networking Event in Sweden

Date: April 20th, 2018
Place: Restaurant in Stockholm
Outline: 22 researchers participated in the gathering. The event started with Director Tadaharu Tsumoto’s opening remarks and a toast. Director Tsumoto talked about the purpose of holding this networking event. Then, each participant briefly introduced themselves and their field of research. Newly arrived International Program Associates Tatsuya Ishida and Akie Igei introduced themselves as well as our Assistants Marika Tashima and Viktor Granström. All the participants enjoyed exchanging information and mingling. In the closing, Deputy Director Takao Yoshihara mentioned his intention of making this event even better to facilitate academic collaborations between Japan and Sweden.
