Invitation Fellowship Programme for Research in Japan

 

1. Aims

This programme is designed to enable Japanese scientists to invite their foreign colleagues to Japan to participate in cooperative activities. Scientists from all countries having diplomatic relations with Japan are eligible. Applications are submitted by Japanese scientists who wish to host a foreign scientist in Japan.
 

2. Way of applying

There are two ways of applying for JSPS Invitation Fellowship: (a) through the Japanese host institute or (b) through a nominating authority in your home country. For information on nominating authorities, see further down on the webpage.

(a) Application through Open Recruitment in Japan (Application by Japanese host researcher)
 
Invitation (Short-term): 14-60 days. Senior scientists are invited to participate in discussions, seminars, give lectures and develop collaborative links.
Contact nominating authority* for deadlines, or in case of host applications:
Host-institution's deadline for 1st recruitment (April 1 2010 - March 31 2011) is August 31 - September 4, 2009
Deadline for 2nd recruitment (October 1 2010 - March 31 2011) is May 6 -12, 2010
 
Invitation (Long-term): 61days -10 months. Scientists are invited to undertake cooperative research work. Contact nominating authority* for deadline, or in case of host applications:
Host-institution's deadline for recruitment for the period April 1 2010 - March 31, 2011, is August 31- September 4, 2009
